Pioneer Bluffs open house

The Pioneer Bluffs Foundation will have a community open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 14 at Pioneer Bluffs, one mile north of Matfield Green on the east side of Kansas Highway 177. Visitors may tour the 1908 home of Henry and Maud Rogler, a “unique” 1915 barn and other buildings in the Pioneer Bluffs Historic District, said the news release.

Bocce ball will be available in addition to hiking along Crocker Creek. A master plan for this historic property will be displayed and visitors are invited to discuss the future of Pioneer Bluffs. There will be free coffee, tea and cookies.

Eagle Scouts

The National Eagle Scout Association has begun a national Eagle Scout search program to find and contact every living Eagle Scout and register his achievement, past and present. According to director Bill Steele in a news release, “this effort will culminate in ROLL CALL: THE NATIONAL EAGLE SCOUT REGISTRY — a publication that will capture the tradition, history and honor of our nation’s Eagle Scouts and will be available only to bona fide Eagles. Only Eagle Scouts who agree to be listed and who are adults will be included in the directory. Eagle Scouts may soon receive correspondence from Harris Connect of Chesapeake, Va., about this program. For more information, call toll free (866) 753-3506 to submit information or purchase the directory.
