A prospective Emporia State University student with a question about financial assistance and an ESU graduate needing a college transcript get their answers from two separate offices on campus. But those two departments are now headed by one person, Elaine Henrie.
University officials named Henrie as ESU’s Registrar, formalizing an interim appointment she has held since early April. Henrie will continue as the school’s Director of Financial Aid as well.
“I think it’s a good marriage for ESU,” said Henrie, referring to her dual roles overseeing the university’s financial aid and registrar offices. “I’m blessed with great staff members in both departments, which makes this arrangement work.”
“We are indeed fortunate to have an individual who possesses significant knowledge about ESU and the functions associated with both of these offices to serve in these roles,” said Tes Mehring, provost and vice president for academic affairs.
Henrie holds a master’s degree in counselor education from Emporia State. She is a member of the National Association of Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) and is also a member of the association’s regional and state organizations. At ESU, she has been recognized for outstanding service to the Admissions Office, and has received the campus PRIDE and Classified Employee of the Year awards.
