THE OLPE Downhome Committee wishes to thank everyone who supported and attended the 2008 Olpe Downhome Festival. Although the rain put a damper on the early events, it cleared off in time for the prize drawings, challenge event, servicemen’s appreciation ceremony and street dance. With your support, we raised over $2,500 for park improvements.
We want to especially thank KVOE AM & FM/KFFX FM Radio, Longbine Auto Plaza, Modern Air Conditioning, Dieker Trailer Sales, Flint Hills Music, Olpe State Bank, Olpe Locker, Wheat State Telephone, PrairieLand Partners, First Start Sales & Service, Kansas Wildlife & Parks – Carson Cox and Dennis Vincent, Camp Alexander, Kansas National Guard, Lyon County Emergency Preparedness, Lyon County sheriff officers, Red Cross Disaster personnel, Red Cross Bloodmobile, the bus driver, nurses and Lions Club members who helped with the Lions Club Sight Bus, Fun/Run organizer Tom Camien and his helpers, Bike Ride organizer Russ Bonitatibus, the American Legion members and everyone else who helped in any way to make the day successful.
