Summer Food Program
The Emporia schools have completed the Summer Food Program. No meals will be served at the schools until classes resume on Aug. 11.
Friendship Meals
Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.
Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home delivery, call 340-8001.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: fish, macaroni and tomatoes, peas, wheat bread, pineapple tidbits.
Tuesday: salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetables, roll, orange.
Wednesday: meat loaf, baked potato, Sicilian-blend vegetables, wheat roll, Oreo pie.
Thursday: soft taco with cheese, black bean salad, lettuce, tortilla, lime gelatin.
Friday: chicken salad, bun, broccoli-cheese soup, pistachio pudding.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: creamed turkey, biscuit, grean beans, mandarin oranges, sherbet.
Tuesday: vegetable soup, sandwich, pea and cheese salad, crackers, blushing pears.
Wednesday: honey-glazed pork chops, bread dressing, broccoli-caulifloer salad, wheat bread, Waldorf salad.
Thursday: Swiss steak, baked potato, Harvard beets, bread, frozen fruit salad.
Friday: barbecue chicken, macaroni salad, cucumber and onions, roll, watermelon.
