Burlington
The Coffey County Republican reported that the Burlington City Council approved and signed a number of documents related to efforts to fund a $12 million sewer project. The project will repair and rehabilitate about 70 percent of the main sewer lines in Burlington. The documents were part of a letter of conditions presented by Christie McReynolds of USDA Rural Development. The council must agree to the conditions before the paperwork can be processed for the loan.
Chase County
The Chase County Leader-News reported that the Chase County Fair has begun and will run through Thursday. Events include a 4-H and Open Horse show, a cookie jar contest and many other events and socials.
