Preschool enrollment
Friends Together United Methodist Preschool, 823 Merchant St., will have an Enrollment Open House from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Director and teacher Jenny Olsson will meet with participants and answer any questions. Openings are currently available in the three-year-old class, with a waiting list available for the four-year-old class. For more information, call 342-6186.
Livestock sale
The Chase County Livestock Sale Committee has finalized plans for the 4-H Livestock Sale, beginning at 4:30 p.m. July 31 in the 4-H Livestock Show and Sale Pavilion in Cottonwood Falls, in conjunction with the Chase County Fair. The sale will be held before the fair barbecue. Each 4-H member will sell one animal per species through the auction. Buyers may support 4-H members either through payment of premium money on the animal or may purchase the animal outright for locker use.
In memory of Stanley Stout, auctioneer and founding member of the sale, the committee has officially named the auction the “Stanley E. Stout Memorial 4-H Livestock Sale.”
Arrangements have been made with Burdick Locker to process and handle animals for their buyer’s use. Information about purchasing animals for locker use may be made by calling the extension office at (620) 273-6491 or any member of the sale committee.
