Osage County alleges prostitution

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Tuesday was a busy day for Osage County law enforcement officials.

A search warrant executed Tuesday in Carbondale resulted in the arrest of a Topeka woman on charges relating to prostitution, and a traffic stop on Interstate Highway 35 in Osage County resulted in seizure of a substantial amount of suspected drug money.

The search warrant was at a business known as “Foxy Lady’s,” 10919 S. Topeka Boulevard, rural Carbondale, according to Osage County Attorney Brandon L. Jones. The business is located north of Carbondale in Osage County on Old Highway 75, just inside the Osage-Shawnee County line.

Carol L. Breuer, 59, of Topeka was arrested on charges of prostitution and promoting prostitution.

Jones said that officers from the Osage County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation executed the search warrant.

Breuer was booked into the Osage County Jail and released on her own recognizance to await formal charges.

Jones said the search warrant and arrest came after a lengthy investigation involving his office, the sheriff’s department and the KBI.

“Law enforcement officials have collected evidence throughout the course of the investigation and in the execution of the search warrant today that lead them to believe that the location has been used for illegal prostitution,” Jones said.

The traffic stop, at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, brought the seizure of approximately $250,000 in money suspected to have been use in drug transactions.

One suspect was booked into the Osage County Jail and is awaiting formal charges, Jones said.

The man’s name has not yet been released.

Were they working out of the old building that used to be a massage parlor back in the day? If so it was rumored then that they were good at... Lets just say "Happy Endings" Atleast that is what my dad always told us when we would drive by.

Looks like Osage County will have a windfall. That's a quarter of a million dollars! Hope they use it wisely. Good job, law enforcement!!!
