Senior Spelling Bee
The Second Annual Lyon County Spelling Bee for all seniors over 50 from the Flint Hills area will be held at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 23 at HIS Place Activity Center, 807 Constitution St. L-Cat transportation will be available. Winners from the two age groups, 50-75 and 76-100+ will be entered in the Kansas Senior Spelling Bee in Salina on Oct. 3, 2008. Registration deadline is Aug. 9, 2008. For more information or to register, call Norma at 342-9056. Sponsors are AARP Local 285, Emporia Area Retired School Personnel and the Lyon County Department on Aging.
