season with loss
The Emporia A-16 Gold squad had its season end with a 13-6 loss to Junction City in the Zone Tournament at Manhattan.
Emporia lost, 20-3, in the first round of Zone on Wednesday.
ESU tracksters take
part in Expo
Four Emporia track athletes participated at the “Emporia High Jump Euphoria” exhibition on Wednesday in downtown Emporia.
Alex Pyle cleared 6-foot-10, while Craig Saalfeld jumped 6-8 during the clinic.
Jennifer Robinson, meanwhile, leaped 5-6, while Brooke Kent cleared 5-5, which would have been a personal best had she done it in an NCAA event.
After the conventional high jump session, athletes used a spring board to go even higher.
With the added help, Pyle cleared 8 feet, 1/4 inch, while Robinson jumped 6-10.
