Vacation Bible School
The Americus United Methodist Church will have Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, after which there will be a family cookout and program. Participants are to bring cans of food for the Salvation Army food pantry.
The First Congregational Church Vacation Bible School, “Jerusalem Marketplace,” for all ages will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those attending will “learn by becoming immersed in authentic Bible-times culture. Families will witness real-life dramas in the center of town, chat with shopkeepers about the prophet Jesus and even discover what the tax collectors know about Jesus,” said the news release. Lebo United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School, “Beach Party — Surfin’ Through the Scriptures,” will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. The Snack Shack will serve a free light meal at 6 p.m. each evening in Fellowship Hall. Classes are available for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade along with a class for adults. Students register according to the grade they will attend next year. Registration forms are in the church lobby, at Allegre Drug Store or one can register at the church from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Student “surfers” will learn Beach Be-Attitudes through stories at the Scripture Scene. They will participate in Beachcomber Crafts, learn songs at the Sound Waves area and play games at the Rockin’ rec. A Family Fun Night will be held at 6 p.m. July 25 and will include a program, ice cream sundaes and a swimming party.
