Senior citizens spelling bee
The second State of Kansas Senior Citizens Spelling Bee will be held at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 3, 2008, at the Bicentennial Center in Salina. The grand prize will be a trip for two to the National Senior Citizens Spelling Bee competition in June 2009 at Cheyenne, Wyo.
The Spelling Bee is open to any Kansas resident who is 50 years or older by Oct. 1, 2008. There is a $5 entry fee payable in advance. Checks need to made payable to the Salina Senior Center.
Entry forms are available at www.salhelp.org/aging/spellingbee or by calling (785) 827-9818. Forms are to be returned by Sept. 10 to the Salina Senior Center, 245 N. Ninth, Salina, KS 67401.
