Off to Oxford
Jennifer Heerman of Emporia, a junior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying business administration, is one of 64 students at UNL who will participate in the 20th annual Nebraska at Oxford Program July 20 through Aug. 16 at the University of Oxford in England, the oldest university in the English-speaking world. The program, sponsored by the UNL College of Business Administration, is based at the Oxford Jesus College. Heerman is the daughter of Kent and Judy Heerman of Emporia.
Friends graduates
Stacy DeLong and Matt Torres of Emporia were spring 2008 graduates of Friends University in Wichita. DeLong graduated with a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and leadership. Torres graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education.
Recruitment grant
Ashley Brooks, a senior at Emporia State University, was selected as the recipient of a $500 recruitment grant awarded by Alpha Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. Brooks, a 2005 graduate of Emporia High School, will graduate from ESU in May 2009 with a degree in elementary education and English as a second language.
