An Oklahoma man died after a single-car accident two miles east of Admire on US Highway 56 Friday afternoon, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office and the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Floyd Stromski of Moore, Okla., was westbound on Highway 56 when he went off the shoulder of the road and entered the north ditch. Stromski overcorrected and drove back onto the highway at high speed, rolling his 2008 Chevrolet pickup two or three times before the vehicle came to rest on its side in the south ditch.
Stromski, 50, was ejected from the truck during the crash and died while being transported to Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka, according to the county sheriff's log. He wasn't wearing a seat belt.
