AT THE GAZETTE, it’s not uncommon to have children stop by to seek donations for their activities. From Girl Scouts to proms to athletics, the list is endless.
After years of receiving hundreds of requests, it has become almost second nature — when we see a child roaming the office, we know what the child wants.
Last week, Addison Fornelli stopped into the office carrying a bucket of homemade cookies. At first we were a bit confused about what she was raising money for. So we quizzed her about what organizations she was involved with and inquired if they were seeking donations. Then she seemed a bit confused and she spent time convincing us that she was just passing out cookies.
Attention business owners with donation-itus: If Addison stops by your business, she really is just passing out excellent homemade cookies and spreading good cheer.

Jeez. The world could use a lot more of that kind of giving spirit; and a lot more Addison Fornellis.

Brava Ms. Fornelli! The world needs more youth like yourself... going door to door just for the matter of doing a good deed. Your parents raised you right, you should feel very proud!
