Ratification of the teachers’ master contract has returned to the agenda for the board of education meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Mary Herbert Education Center, 1700 W. Seventh Ave.

The board removed ratification from its last agenda after too few teachers voted on the contract to ratify or turn down the proposal before the board meeting.

In addition to being asked to ratify changes to the master contract for certified personnel, the board will consider approval of administrators’ and classified employees’ salaries for 2008-09.

During the meeting, the board will wrap up end-of-the-fiscal-year business and elect new officers for the coming year.

Other items on the agenda include:

• Appointments for board clerk, deputy clerk, clerk pro-tem, treasurer, deputy treasurer, attorney, truancy officers

• Choosing of depositories for school funds, the official paper, hearing officer for free and reduced-meal applications, Kansas Public Employees Retirement System representative and Food Service representative

• Approval of waiver of generally accepted accounting principles procedures

• Approval of home rule resolution

• An executive session to discuss personnel

The board will have a budget workshop and study session at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 21, at Mary Herbert. A public budget workshop is set at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, with a budget hearing to follow at 7 p.m. Both will be at Mary Herbert.
