The investigation is continuing into a robbery early Thursday morning at Willard’s Daylight Donuts, 902 W. Sixth Ave.
Police Chief Gary Smith said earlier that his officers are looking for a slender man about 6 feet tall and possibly having blond hair. He is believed a white man, and victims were not able to provide a description of his clothing.
The man was wearing some type of head covering when he pulled a large dark handgun and forced a clerk and a customer to lie down on the floor. He also disabled the store’s telephone, causing the victims to flag down a passing truck and ride to the Daylight Donuts store at 1028 Commercial St. to call police.
Smith said that the man left on foot, although he could have picked up a ride from an accomplice waiting in a vehicle out of sight of the store.
Anyone who may have seen a man matching that description entering or leaving the area is asked to call police, 343-4220. People who want to remain anonymous may call the Lyon County Crime Stoppers line, 342-2273.
The amount of the loss was not available this morning.
