The Emporia AAAs fell in their final game of the Glen Winget Memorial Tournament in Bartlesville, Okla., on Saturday, losing 14-3 to Rogers County (Okla.).

Emporia ended the tournament with an 0-4 record.

Rogers County, a team filled mostly by players coming back after their first year of college, scored single runs in the second and third innings before posting five runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth.

Meanwhile, Emporia coach Aaron Lechien said his team stayed with a good approach against Rogers County’s pitcher, a left-hander that threw in the mid-80s.

“We’re not real used to seeing guys like that.” Lechien said. “He worked both side of the plate really well. Our guys did what they could. We did lot better as far as executing, but he was one of those guys you’re just not going to score a lot of runs off of.”

Emporia scored two of its runs in the third.

Harrison Stone and Zach Gifford both singled, and Jared Krause and Taylor Clark picked up the RBI.

The AAAs managed a single tally in the fifth, as Stone doubled and later came around to score.

Stone led the offense, going 2-for-2.

The AAAs will play at Lawrence on Tuesday.
