The Kansas National Education Association announced Wednesday that the group has endorsed Kitty Frank for election to the 17th District seat in the Kansas Senate.
Frank, a Democrat, filed her candidacy to run against incumbent state senator and physician Jim Barnett.
“The support Kitty is receiving from KNEA speaks volumes to her dedication to Kansas schools and educators,” a KNEA news release quoted Anthony Hensley as saying. Hensley, a Democrat from Topeka, is the Senate Democratic leader.
“Kitty truly understands the challenges facing administrators, educators, parents and students living in the 17th District,” Hensley said. “... In the Kansas Senate, I know Kitty will be a strong voice for the people living in the 17th District and will work hard to improve the quality of learning at all Kansas public schools, colleges and universities.”
The 17th District includes all of Chase and Lyon counties and parts of Coffey, Greenwood, Marion, Morris, and Osage counties.
KNEA is made up primarily of educators.

We should be wary of a candidate so beholden to a special interest group, especially one whose main objective is to get as much of the state's treasury as it can.

Kitty carries the banner of her party well along with Obama. Kitty and Obama can and will get it done. Vote for Kitty and Obama in November. They are like two peas in a pod and they will work together to save our country.
