Admire Independence celebration
The Admire United Methodist Church will provide homemade ice cream and be host for the Admire City and Community Independence Day Celebration dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Admire Pride members will offer volleyball, horseshoes and children’s activities. Fireworks will be provided by the city.

I'm glad to see that little town is having a celebration unlike some other towns in Lyon County...ohhhhhh hmmm....

What! There are cities celebrating The Fourth? I thought, according to Emporia's fire chief and commissioners, the holiday had been cancelled. I guess that was just here, huh?
