Tyson Foods’ decision last week to close its slaughter operation in Emporia has placed at least one local feed lot in a state of flux.
Jack Jones, owner of Flint Hills Feedlot, said this morning that he is exploring options for the company, which he has operated since 1968.
One of those options is “cessation of its commercial cattle feeding operation,” Jones said in a news release today.
