Fort Riley soldier killed

DENVER — A 19-year-old soldier from Denver has died of wounds suffered from a bomb that detonated near his vehicle during combat in Baghdad, Iraq, military officials said Sunday.
Pfc. Duncan Charles Crookston died Friday at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, the Defense Department said.
He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, at Fort Riley in Kansas.
