The expiration for filing applications for Emergency Disaster loans by farmers and ranchers in Lyon, Morris, Greenwood and Wabaunsee Counties is Feb. 1. Those needing farm credit as a result of severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred from May 4, 2007, and May 18, 2007, should make their applications at the FSA County Office, 3020 W. 18th Ave. in Emporia before the expiration date.
“Loans covering physical and or production losses may be made at 3.75 percent interest rate,” said Jane Armitage, farm loan manager for the Farm Service Agency.
FSA loans covering physical losses may be used to replace installations, equipment, livestock or buildings lost through disaster.
