Support Ron Paul

Many of you may have seen the ABC News/Facebook presidential debates Saturday evening, but what you did not see were Facebook poll results showing Ron Paul as the favored Republican candidate, garnering 37 percent of Facebook supporters as compared to second-place Mike Huckabee’s 18 percent. Nor did ABC broadcast the 40 percent of viewers polled who agreed that Ron Paul appeared the “most presidential” during the Republican debate.

However, it was shown on the broadcast that an overwhelming majority wished the candidates had spent more time discussing the economy. Who among the Republican candidates repeatedly addressed the economy, emphasizing the United States’ need to return to a gold standard in order to combat the out of control inflation the U.S. Dollar is experiencing? Ron Paul, of course.

Ron Paul, the candidate who did not embarrass himself by directing personal attacks and insults towards the others on the panel, but instead spoke respectfully, eloquently and addressed actual ISSUES.

Our nation’s presidency is also in dire need of returning to a gold standard. Vote Ron Paul!

I'm glad to see Ron Paul getting the respect! I believe that the only reason he is behind on previous polls is because the media doesn't want him to win so they are doing everything in their power to go against him. The presidential race does not seem fair at all to me. I am upset that the best candidate is being pushed under the rug.

Ron Paul seems to be the only worthy candidate in my book.

I'm a fan of Ron Paul. He is the real deal in my opinion and the more I research him the more I agree with his ideas. I won't preach, but if you REALLY want to shake up the broken federal system Ron is your guy and he has more integrity than everybody in Congress combined in my mind.

Here is a fun site to learn more about him if you have decent bandwidth as you can watch some video clip highlights. Of course he is wildly popular on the internet so there are lots of sites to check out if you google his name.

P.S. I'm from Kansas and I miss the Flint Hills...are they covered in snow now?

Wow, we're looking to facebook for campaign prediction? Facebook!?! Please. Perhaps that is why no one heard about that. Ron Paul is a long shot at best. Better than Guiliani constantly barking about 9/11 I suppose. I'm not sure the GOP has that great of a shot in the election, regardless of who gets the nomination.

Craig - the snow is starting to melt, but we have had many beautiful, snow-covered days this season, and fortunately the Emporia area has missed most of the severe weather.

Ron Paul has always stood with great credibility. He means what he says and says what he means.

To bad the corporate "machine" will continue to elect their favorite choice.

The Flint Hills have been a winter wonderland this year. The ice storm transformed them into a world of glittering diamonds under a December sun. The ten inches of snow was like fields of whipped cream. Driving down a back road into a creek valley I spied four whitetail deer, working their way up through a timber-covered hill, back-dropped in snow. It looked just like a picture postcard.

It is such a blessing to have the moisture which has soaked the ground and will help the spring burn stay under control.

It's not a joke to judge Ron Paul's popularity by his online presence (Facebook). The media won't let him be heard, they keep denying him airtime. He has no other choice but to get his word out on the internet. Dr. Paul raised $18 million in ONE DAY online. If we can get the spending levels back to what they were in 2000, we can completely abolish the IRS (NO INCOME TAX). Sounds like a big, scary, looney idea, but it's really not. Ron Paul would give the power back to the states. The income from state revenues would still be sufficent. Dr. Paul would also close the United States Department of Education which has accounted for a 13% decrease in scoring since its inception. People all over the WORLD are BEGGING us to vote Ron Paul. Why not get things back to the way the founding fathers wrote the Constitution? If we don't start slowing the government now...when will we reach a point of no return? They're already too big. They tell us what to eat, who we bomb, etc. This is a democracy and we all HATE BUSH. However, if this is truly a democracy, why hasn't ANYONE been able to stop this dictator!? The point being if we don't stop the government from taking over every aspect of our lives now, when will we...?

Obama may seem better than Hillary, but ....

I grew up in the great plains. My uncle grew up in El Dorado, KS.

I saw where Obama visited El Dorado a few days ago. The news said it was his first time there, and that his (white) grandfather was raised there.

I was wondering why Obama went all the way to Kenya ten years ago to look up the relatives of his father (who deserted the family when he was a little kid), but he never made it to El Dorado (until the eve of the caucus) to research the background and relatives of the man who raised him to adulthood.

I was kind of offended by this passage from his book: "Dreams from my Father" at page 15:

"escape from the empty, dust-ridden plains, where big plans mean a job as a bank manager and entertainment means an ice-cream soda and a Sunday matinee, where fear and lack of imagination choke your dreams so that you already know on the day that you're born just where you'll die and who it is that'll bury you."

Now, in my home town (near El Dorado) some of my friends are plumbers, plasterers, and, yes, even a bank manager. I don't see their lives on the plains as some kind of sad, ridiculous joke.

So, some may like Obama better than Hillary. I just don't think he has any real respect for people in the great plains. If you are a Hillary hater, just vote Republican. It might be satisfying to vote against Hillary, but Obama doesn't deserve your vote after ridiculing the life in the Great Plains.

Ron Paul's going to run as an independent, so why waste your vote in the Republican caucus? John McCain is by-of-and-for the West. Vote for McCain, you'll be able to pick Ron Paul off the libertarian ticket next November, if you like him (and there's a lot to like, no doubt).

This country deserves everything it get's if they are stupid enough to put the Clinton's OR Obama in the White House. The best viable option for this country is the straight shooting Mike Huckabee. I fully intend to check my US citizenship at the border on my way out of this country if Clinton or Obama get elected.
