Q Are charges going to be filed in the traffic accident that resulted in the death of Rachel Hall?
A “The answer on that one is, any determinations will be made once all reports are received from KBI and other investigating agencies,” said Lyon County Attorney Marc Goodman.
“Ninety percent of (the public) still think all this is up to us. Well, you have to have an affidavit.”
After any necessary affidavits and reports are received from the law enforcement agencies involved, Goodman will be prepared to decide whether charges will be filed.
Hall, who was 20, died July 9 in a crash at the intersection of Roads U and 175. A cement truck driven by Donald Petitt, 33, of Ozawkie apparently failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the passenger side of the Hall vehicle.
Petitt received minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
Hall was not wearing a seat belt, according to an initial report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
