Weather delays opening
Inclement weather has prevented Lyon County road crews from completing work on Road M, northeast of Emporia.
The road will continue to be closed between Highway 56 and Road 370. With milder weather forecasted, the county expects work to resume soon. The road should be open again by Feb. 8.
Baker University reception
Baker University will be host for a reception for area high school juniors, seniors and their parents at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Braum’s Ice Cream, 1028 W. Sixth Ave.
An admissions representative from Baker’s College of Arts and Sciences will discuss scholarship opportunities and the university’s academic programs. The deadline to register is Feb. 1. Students should include their name, address, telephone number, high school, academic interests and number of guests.
