Emporia Police Chief Gary Smith reported that there were more than 27 reports of vandalism primarily targeting vehicles and structures from Sunday to Monday.
Smith said the reporting period was from Sunday and ran through 4:45 p.m. Monday.
“The vandalism included spray painting and breaking out windows,” Smith said. “The reports have been received throughout the community and span most of the 72 hours prior.”
Anyone who has information regarding the vandalism is asked to call the Emporia Police Department at 342-4200 or Crime Stoppers at 342-CARE.

Why is it that none of these crimes were listed in today's police reports but many other items were listed, including many that occurred yesterday. Would it be because a certain area of the city was affected,, yes, yes I read where it was all over the community,, but until it is posted I will wonder what part of the community it happened in.
Also kinda like the fireworks, (dangerous bombs), and the persons name WHO was arrested has not be published, if the person had died, the name would of been published and he would of been called dead.......well maybe not, as I remember it took months for the Tyson TB death's name to come out, had to make sure everything was covered.......

Hillbilly,
Daily Report is published each day as space is available. Not all the police and sheriff calls could be published today. When that happens, we publish what fits in the order it was received. The decision has nothing to do with what the crimes were or where they happened.
Rest assured that all of the criminal damage calls have been recorded and are waiting to be published. They will be first on the list for Wednesday's Daily Report.

I know of one of the cars that the paint was damaged over the entire car and has to be completely repainted. I hope they catch these childish people.
Another person had foot prints from the last snow we had and it went from car to car up and down the streets and driveways over on Wild Turkey Rd. They got in to several vehicles trashing them looking for whatever.
I hope someone knows something and comes forward.

hottopics, i agree with you, there is too much of this childish behavior and the kids were on a three day weekend when they did this. when i lived in that area, car vandalism was frequent. the best thing to do is to report suspicious people, and i threatened to put cameras in my windows, but i moved instead. im referring to them as kids, because i believe its kids
