One person was arrested Sunday after allegedly making sparkler bombs and setting them off at Cambridge Apartments, 736 E. 12th Ave.
Emporia Fire Marshal Tom Andrews said this morning that there was no damage to buildings at the apartments.
“They can be pretty dangerous, especially if you are holding one or are near one when they go off,” Andrews said. “The explosion is quite a bit more powerful than anything you can buy as far as Class C fireworks go.”
Andrews did not give the suspect’s name and charges are pending in Lyon County District Court.
