The Emporia State track and field team took all four of the MIAA’s athlete of the week honors, the conference announced Tuesday.
Kenton Lonberger, Damon Birk, Jaclyn Sill and Brooke Kent all earned the distinction after competing at the KSU Invitational last weekend in Manhattan.
Lonberger, a freshman, earned male track athlete of the week after taking second in the 60-meter dash in a time of 6.94 seconds.
Birk won his second straight male field athlete honor, as the Gridley native finished second in the shot put with a throw 53 feet, 4.5 inches. That toss was the top collegiate mark in the event.
Sill also took her second consecutive women’s track weekly award, as she placed third in the 600-yard run (1:28.13).
Sophomore Brooke Kent was the other award-winner, named female field athlete of the week after taking third in the long jump. Her leap of 18 feet, .5 inches was an NCAA provisional qualifier.
