Tuesday
• The Flint Hills Community Health Center Board of Directors will meet for their regular monthly meeting starting at noon in Jones Conference Room at the health center.
• The Emporia-Lyon County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission will meet for its regular session starting at 7 p.m. in the City Conference Room. Agenda items include a request from Ress Properties to change the zoning status of the former Modine building at 1401 Industrial Road.
Wednesday
• The Emporia City Commission will meet for a study session starting at 9:30 a.m. in the City Conference room, 521 Market St.
• The Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees will meet starting at 12:30 in the second floor conference room.
• The Emporia School District board will meet starting at 7 p.m. at Mary Herbert School.
Thursday
• The Lyon County Commission will meet for an action session starting at 8 a.m. at the Lyon County Courthouse. This will be the only meeting this week.
Friday
• Lowther North will have its spelling bee starting at 2:20 p.m. at the school.
• There will be an open acoustic jam session from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Flint Hills Technical College Conference Center.
• The Emma Chase Cafe in Cottonwood Falls will host the Old Timey Rock & Roll/Vintage Country Music at 7:30 p.m. at the cafe.
Saturday
• This season’s first Eggs and Issues will be held at 8 a.m. at the Sauder Alumni Center at Emporia State University. The event, which is sponsored by the Emporia Area Chamber & Visitors Bureau and the League of Women Voters, gives the public a chance to meet with officials and ask questions about key issues.
Sunday
• There will be a trombone recital by Mark Springer at 3 p.m. at the Heath Recital Hall at ESU Beach Music Hall.
