The Emporia Community Foundation on Friday took on a new fund and conducted organizational business.
The new donor-advised fund — the Batille Fund — was approved for inclusion in the foundation to join funds from individuals as well as 16 organizations in a seven-county area.
Also on Friday, Jeff DeBauge and D.J. Glaser were elected and Jim Shepard re-elected as trustees at large. Bobbie Agler was reappointed as a trustee representing the City of Emporia and Rick Tidwell reappointed representing Lyon County. The board of trustees elected the following as officers for 2008: Agler, chairman; Chuck Hanna, vice-chairman and Ken Calhoun, secretary.
In addition, these trustees were elected as members of the board of directors for 2008: Ken Buchele, president; Elvin Perkins, vice-president; Bill Barnes, treasurer; Jackie Scott, Mark McAnarney, Agler and Hanna. The Foundation’s 20 trustees meet quarterly and the seven-member board of directors that oversees daily operations meets monthly.
2008 marks the 10th year of the Emporia Community Foundation.
