Applications are available for college students interested in serving internships for Congressman Jerry Moran, according to an announcement from Moran’s office.
“My own interest in public service was sparked by an internship for First District Congressman Keith Sebelius in 1974,” Moran said.
Three internship periods are available annually, although the first currently is in session.
The second session spans the summer months, and the third run begins in September and ends in December. Internships are available at all four of Moran’s offices.
Each applicant must submit by fax a letter detailing interest in public service and describing internship goals. A resume, college transcript, three reference letters and a completed application also must be included.
March 3 is the deadline for applications for summer internships.
Preference will be given to students who live in the First Congressional District of Kansas and who already have completed at least two years of college.
More information may be had by calling Moran’s internship coordinator in Washington, D.C., (202) 225-2715. Applications may be downloaded from http://www.jerrymoran.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=108&Itemid=83.
