Today
The 10th Annual Flint Hills Shoot-Out basketball tournament begins at William L. White Auditorium. The tournament will run through Saturday.
Tuesday
The Emporia High School varsity and junior varsity girls’ basketball teams will play Leavenworth High School beginning at 5 p.m. at Emporia High School.
Wednesday
The Lyon County Commission will have a study session beginning at 8 a.m. in Room 102 of the Lyon County Courthouse.
Emporia State University’s spring session begins. Emporia State University will play basketball against Truman State University. The women’s game will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the men’s game at 7:30 p.m. Both games at William Lindsay White Auditorium.
The Emporia City Commission will meet at 7 p.m. in the city commission room of the Municipal Building at 518 Mechanic St.
Seminar, “Low-Stress Livestock Handling,” presented by Nebraska veterinarian Lynn Locatelli. Registration, 4:30 p.m.; seminar, 5 to 9:30 p.m., Emporia Livestock Sales. Cost, $25, with meal.
Thursday
The Lyon County Commission will meet at 8 a.m. in Room 102 of the Lyon County Courthouse.
Friday
The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce will have its 111th annual meeting, beginning at 6 p.m. in Webb Lecture Hall in Emporia State University’s Memorial Union.
The Emma Chase Cafe in Cottonwood Falls will have “Tall Grass Gospel Singin’” beginning at 7:30 p.m.
“The Fabric of Landscapes,” an exhibit of the work of Bryan Grove, will open at 9 a.m. in Gilson Memorial Gallery at Emporia State University. The show will continue through Feb. 26.
Saturday
The Emporia High School Wrestling Tournament begins at 9 a.m. at Emporia High School. The Pflaum Debate Tournament begins at Emporia State University and will run through Monday.
