At the end of the first half, it seemed as if the Madison Bulldogs had Tuesday night’s game against the Lyndon Tigers wrapped up with an 11-point lead.
The Tigers stepped up their game in the second half, though, making a remarkable comeback to win, 61-56, over Madison to pick up their first victory of the season.
“(Lyndon) coach (Michael) Massey does a really good job,” Madison head coach Alan Brown said. “They were probably the best 0-6 team in the state of Kansas, and their record doesn’t indicate their talent.”
The Tigers made their move late. Lyndon had a 19-9 run in the third quarter and a 20-14 edge in the fourth.
Leading the Bulldogs in scoring was Eric Porter and Michael Luthi, who both had 15 points.
Lyndon was led by Derek Banzhaf, who had a game-high 17 points.
Banzhaf was followed by Quinton Testerman and Alex Wendling, who both scored 10 points for the Tigers.
