Lady Hornets lose second straight

The Lady Hornets used a 7-0 run to tie the game at 17, but Washburn followed with a 10-0 spurt to push its advantage to 27-17.

ESU came right back, as Cassondra Boston hit consecutive 3-pointers in a 10-0 run that tied it at 27.

The score was tied 31-31 at half.

After an 8-0 run, ESU took a brief second-half lead at 43-40, but WU scored the next 10 points to regain a 50-43 advantage.

Following a Corkey Stiger layup, ESU's Allie Renberg made a lay-in to break a 6 1/2 minute scoring drought and make it 52-49 with 3:27 left in the game.

WU scored the next five points on free throws, and ESU couldn't get the deficit under six the rest of the way.

Michelle Stueve had 19 points for ESU, while Ida Edwards added 10.

WU was led by a career-high 16 points from Jessica Mainz.
