Birthday open house
Evelyn Crouch will be the guest of honor at an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Wyndham Place, 1401 E. 12th Ave., to celebrate her 90th birthday. Cards may be sent to her at Wyndham Place.
Friends meeting
The annual meeting of the Emporia Friends of the Zoo will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Zoo Education Center.
The agenda include election of board members and annual report. The meeting is open to anyone holding a current membership in the Emporia Friends of the Zoo.
Library meeting
The Emporia Public Library board meeting is at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the large meeting room at the library.
The agenda includes budget and finance reports and 2008 wage proposal; administrative reports; committee reports; representative reports by Sherry Watkins for Friends of the Library, Jack Havenhill of NCKL and Jesse Solis for diversity outreach; old business; new business including physical facilities standards, budget standards, structure and governance standards, technology plan draft, civil rights compliance certificate approval; board prerogative; adjourn; executive session-director’s evaluation.
