Freshman orientation and the new fitness center have been requested as discussion topics when the Emporia High School Student Council meets with the local board of education on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the school.
School board members meet with StuCo annually for dinner and a discussion of topics foremost in students’ minds. The meeting Wednesday will precede the regularly scheduled board meeting at 7 p.m. in the EHS library.
The agenda for the board meeting includes executive sessions on negotiations and personnel matters, curriculum reports on literacy lessons from Village Elementary School and Lowther North Intermediate School, and an overview of performance-based budgeting.
The board also will honor recent accomplishments of two teachers, Heather Caswell and Andy Battenfield.
