The Lyon County Planning and Appeals Board will again consider an application for agriculture special use, sales barn near Admire during Wednesday evening’s regular meeting.
The application for a sales barn on the southeast corner of Kansas Highway 99 and Road 310 has been tabled multiple times to give the applicant, Charles Loomis, more time to hone his plans for the barn. The application was first heard in September of last year. At that meeting, Loomis said he wanted to have a livestock sale barn on the property near Admire. The barn would be between 11,000 and 14,000 square feet on approximately 10 acres.
This week’s meeting will start at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Lyon County Commission chambers of the Lyon County Courthouse, 430 Commercial St. There are three applications for agriculture special use, single-family dwellings before the sales barn.
Other applications include:
F A request for agriculture special use, single-family dwelling by Jose and Serrell Aranda.
F A request for agriculture special use, single-family dwelling by Brian Whitmore.
F A request for agriculture special use, single-family dwelling by Nellie Owens.
Planning board members will review Lyon County’s comprehensive plan and zoning regulations if time permits.
