They won’t literally stay up until sunrise, but organizers of a fundraising event are planning several hours of celebrating this Friday at Emporia State University.
Up ’til Dawn is a student-led, student-run fundraising program hosted by colleges and universities nationwide. Up ‘til Dawn unites students, faculty, and the surrounding community in an effort to support the life-saving treatment and research of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital .
ESU Greek organizations conducted their letter-writing party in October. On Friday, they will find out how much money their efforts collected during the Up ‘til Dawn party. Co-sponsored by the Union Activities Council, the party starts at 7 p.m. in Webb Lecture Hall in the Memorial Union.
“We’ll have food, games and prizes for the teams that participated in the letter-writing party,” said Julie McGovern, public relations chair for the event.
Michael R. Lane, ESU president, and his wife, Peggy Lane, will accept the check on the hospital’s behalf for the amount that ESU students raised.
