Churches are taking orders for next Angel Food distribution

Orders for Angel Food boxes will be taken for the next several days at four churches in this area.
The boxes cost $30 each, tax included, and must be paid for in advance. Delivery will be on March 15.
Each box will contain: 1.5 lb. top sirloin roast, 24 oz. steak-cut fries, 2 lb. boneless skinless chicken, 1 lb. frozen mixed vegetables, 1.5 lb. boneless pork filet, 1 lb. frozen green beans, 2 lb. breaded chicken breast strips, box of 10 frozen waffles, 1.5 lb. lean beef patties, 32-oz. Borden shelf-stable milk, 4 lbs. chicken leg quarters, 1 lb. Blue Bonnet margarine, 1 lb. all-meat bologna, 15 oz. pork and beans, 1 lb. ground turkey, 15 oz. Marie Callender’s soup, one dessert, 7.5 oz. macaroni and cheese.
With the purchase of one Angel Food box, participants are eligible to buy other specialty boxes. Box 1 will have a total of 8 pounds of pork chops, beef ribs, lean hamburger steaks and bratwurst sausage links. Box 2 will have 5 pounds of thick-cut ribeye steaks. Boxes 1 and 2 cost $20 each. A 10-pound box of breaded chicken breast tenders will be sold for $18.
Cash, money orders or Vision cards (food stamps) may be used to purchase Angel Food Ministries food; personal checks will not be accepted. Orders may be placed at the following locations and times:
• Emporia Presbyterian Church, 8th Avenue and Commercial Street: Today, 2 to 4 p.m.; Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Americus United Presbyterian Church, 557 Broadway, Americus: Friday, 2 to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Emporia Church of the Nazarene, 2931 W. 24th Ave.: Today and Friday, 2 to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Grace United Methodist Church, 2 Neosho St.: Today, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Friday, 2 to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
