Enrollment increase
Emporia State University showed a slight enrollment increase for the spring semester compared to Spring 2007, the Kansas Board of Regents announced Thursday.
Overall, the Regents universities saw a 1.1 percent net increase. Fort Hays State had the largest increase, and The University of Kansas broke even when an increase at the medical center campus was offset by a decrease at the main campus. The figures for all schools are:
- Emporia State, up 34 students, 0.6 percent;
- Fort Hays State, up 432, 5.7 percent;
- Kansas State, up 261, 1.3 percent;
- Pittsburg State, up 138, 2.1 percent;
- KU, up 1, 0 percent;
- Wichita State, up 47, 0.3 percent.
Spring Expo on Saturday
Get a taste of spring this weekend at the Lyon County Fairgrounds. More than 40 exhibitors will be at the Spring Expo. A highlight this year is a test drive area featuring lawn and garden equipment. The free show is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
