Lyon County commissioners voted to approve a conditional use permit involving a mobile home located in an agriculture district in Emporia’s Metropolitan Planning area.
The request, which was made by P.D. Miller, who owns property in the 1800 block of North Highway 99, was for permission to have a mobile home in an agricultural district.
Commissioners approved the permit, which comes with conditions. The mobile home is in a flood plain, which comes with its own set of challenges, including securing the home from flood waters and gaining approval from the Lyon County Health Department for a septic system.

- Commissioners approved paying KCCA membership dues in the amount of $607.50.
- Commissioners approved utility usage at the extension building, 2632 W. Highway 50. Commissioners will pick up 20 percent of the utility bills and the extension will pick up 80. This arrangement will be reviewed after a few utility bills are received following the extension’s occupancy of the building in January.
