Kathleen Bode, a faculty member in the division of health and human services at Flint Hills Technical College, was recently inducted to the Wall of Honor at Gillespie High School, Gillespie, Ill., for her dedication to nursing and education.
An accomplished nurse and administrator in the medical field, Bode has served the medical community with distinction for more than 35 years. She was instrumental in establishing medical programs ranging from skilled nursing units to home health agencies. In addition, Bode served as a missionary in the Philippines from 1959 to 1970.
Nursing education has greatly influenced her professional life; therefore, she plays an active role in numerous nursing organizations. Bode’s mission has been guided by her desire to serve others. She came to Flint Hills Technical College in 1996 and served as the Health and Human Services Division chair through 2007. She continues to serve as an instructor for the nursing department and mentor to the many faculty within the department
