Potato bar
The American Legion is having their 10th annual Potato Bar, with a variety of toppings, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Legion Post, 2921 W. 12th Ave. Carryouts will be available. Advance tickets, sold at the office and by members, are $5; tickets at the door are $6; children under 6 are free of charge. Proceeds will be used to support the American Legion baseball program. Church supper
The Olpe United Methodist Church will serve pasta with sauces, salads, desserts and beverage from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Free will offerings will be accepted to help with the building fund.
Pancake supper
The Eagle Creek Saddle Club is sponsoring a pancake supper from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Olpe Chicken House. The menu includes all the pancakes one can eat for $3. Sausage, eggs and beverages will be sold at additional cost. For more information, call (620) 437-2215 or (620) 443-5050.
Barbecue fundraiser
The public is invited to help support the Emporia Christian School fundraiser from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bad Ol’ Bern’s BBQ and Ice Cream, 20 Commercial St. Participants need to mention they are supporting the ECS fundraiser. A percentage of the daily total will be donated to the school for the general fund covering operational expenses. For more information, call principal Jim Sanborn at 342-5353.
