Governor appoints two from Emporia to task force

Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed a diverse group of Kansans to the Commission on Emergency Planning and Response.
“Natural disasters and emergencies can occur without warning in Kansas,” Sebelius said. “Proper planning and preparation can make a dramatic difference in those situations. This commission works to make sure that citizens in every community are safe and secure.”
Appointed to four year terms:

· James Heitschmidt, Hutchinson
· Clayton Huseman, Topeka
· Kevin Moles, Lawrence
· Jim Ogle, Topeka
· William Porter, Winfield
· John Prather, El Dorado
· Paul Sasse, Independence
· Ken Schremmer, Hoisington
· Jack Taylor, Emporia
· Elizabeth Ticer, Olathe
The Commission on Emergency Planning and Response facilitates and coordinates efforts to mitigate, prepare, respond and recover from emergencies and disasters in Kansas.
