E-mail warning
The FBI issued a warning Tuesday that Valentine’s Day e-mail greetings could contain a “Trojan horse” that takes over computers and uses them to distribute spam, viruses or other destructive software.
The bureau said unexpected Valentine e-cards should be treated as suspicious. The e-mails ask people to click on a link to see the card. The click takes the computer to a site that then downloads the Storm Worm virus, which turns the computer into part of a “botnet,” a group of hijacked computers used without the control of their owners.
