Westar contributes

Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce President Jeanine McKenna has announced that Westar Energy made a $15,000 contribution to the Building Futures blueprint for growth program in Emporia.
“We are very excited and grateful to Westar for their community leadership with this contribution. The Building Futures program is going to make some really good things happen here in Emporia. Businesses and individuals are already getting on board and this contribution demonstrates Westar’s commitment to Emporia,” McKenna said.
“Being an active part of the Emporia community is important to us at Westar. This is our community. It’s a great city with a wonderful and colorful history. By being a part of Building Futures, we want to help assure a strong positive outlook and growth for the coming years,” said Mark Schreiber, Westar’s Director of Government Affairs.
