Author to speak

An award-winning children’s book author from Kansas City, Mo., will appear at the Kansas Reading Recovery and Early Literacy Conference at Emporia State on Feb. 25.
Lisa Campbell Ernst will speak at the 10th annual conference at the Memorial Union. Ernst has written and illustrated more than 20 books and has won a Parent’s Choice Award, a Pick of the List honor from Booklist and a Horn Book Honor Book Award. Her books include “Stella Louella’s Runaway Book” and “Sam Johnson and the Blue Ribbon Quilt.”
David Booth, a language development expert, will be the conference’s keynote speaker. Booth teaches graduate courses at the University of Toronto.
