The No. 11 Emporia State softball team ended its weekend with a 5-2 victory over Cameron on Saturday on the final day of the Abilene Christian Tournament.
Jennifer Dace broke things open for ESU in the third inning, contributing a two-out, two-run double that gave the Hornets a 3-1 lead.
It would be all the run support ESU pitcher Megan Dennis would need.
The junior went the distance, allowing just two runs and six hits while striking out four.
Dace led ESU’s offense, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Jessie Wiard and Aubree Brattin added two hits each, while Miranda Campbell contributed two RBI and a run scored.
ESU (2-3) will head to Texas again this week to play in the Angelo State Tournament in San Angelo, Texas.
