Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee won the Lyon County Republican Caucus Saturday morning, garnering 157 votes out of 309 cast at the Anderson building on the Lyon County Fairgrounds.
Arizona Sen. John McCain, considered the frontrunner for the Republican nomination for president, received 102 votes. Texas Rep. Ron Paul came in third with 29.
Eleven voters cast ballots for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who suspended his campaign earlier this week.
Two voters were uncommitted, and one voted for political activist and former diplomat Alan Keyes. Seven voters cast provisional ballots.
On Saturday afternoon, CNN projected that Huckabee would win the Kansas caucuses. With 76 percent of the precincts reporting, Huckabee had a commanding 62 percent of the vote, well ahead of McCain's 22 percent and Paul's 11 percent. Thirty-six Republican delegates were at stake in Kansas.
