Friends in Faith has scheduled another meeting to help Tyson workers who will lose their jobs as a result of a downsizing at the Tyson Fresh Meats plant.
Eswin Rios, director of the group, said that City Manager Matt Zimmerman and representatives of other agencies will attend the meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday in the W.L. White Auditorium.
“What we’re trying to accomplish is give out information about all the activities going on here for the next few weeks,” Rios said. “This is what we have planned — now, what is it that you need to have done?”
Rios said that he wants to give the workers an opportunity to talk to Zimmerman and tell him of their needs and concerns.
Rios also said that answers to questions posed at two previous meetings also will be given to those who attend.
“I feel we’ll get a good gauge on how many people are willing to stay,” Rios said.
